Convert images into real vector paths

ToolBuddy's Image Vectorizer converts PNG, JPG, JPEG, and WebP artwork into SVG geometry instead of wrapping the original pixels inside an SVG file. Path-based output stays sharp when enlarged and can be recolored or refined in compatible design applications.

The workflow is designed for logos, icons, silhouettes, signatures, scans, and flat-color illustrations. Photographs and complex gradients contain visual information that automatic tracing cannot reproduce as clean editable geometry, so the tool reports limited suitability instead of promising an unrealistic result.

Choose the result you need

Cut-ready SVG favors separated solid-color shapes and manageable path counts. Logo cleanup favors smooth curves, clean corners, transparent backgrounds, and compact files. Line art and stencil mode applies a controllable monochrome threshold with inversion and speckle cleanup. Each mode translates a practical goal into tested tracing settings, while advanced controls remain available when the first result needs adjustment.

Inspect SVG quality before downloading

The comparison workspace shows the original, filled vector, and path outline. ToolBuddy reports path count, approximate node count, color count, output size, and compatibility findings. The cut-ready check identifies excessive path counts and rejects scripts, external references, raster embeds, and unsafe SVG content before export.

Private browser-only vectorization

The tracing engine is compiled to WebAssembly and runs inside a browser worker. Source pixels and generated SVG content remain on the device, and no cloud vectorization API is used. This makes the workflow suitable for client logos, unpublished products, and brand assets that should not enter a third-party upload queue.

FAQ

Common questions.

Have more questions? Reach out via our contact page and we will respond within 24 hours.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Vectorization runs locally in your browser, and your source image never leaves your device.

Which images vectorize best?

Logos, icons, silhouettes, signatures, line drawings, and flat-color artwork produce the cleanest paths. Photographs and gradient-heavy artwork have limited results.

Is the SVG really editable?

Yes. The download contains vector paths rather than an embedded copy of the raster image.

Will the SVG work with Cricut?

The Cut-ready profile removes unsupported content and checks important constraints such as Cricut's 5,000-path limit, but you should still inspect the design before cutting.

Is the download free?

Yes. The complete SVG conversion and download require no account or payment.
