About PDF Editor

PDF EditorEdit PDF OnlineEdit PDF Text

Edit the text that is already there

Each line of a PDF is drawn with a font embedded in the file. The editor reads those fonts, so when you click a line and type, the new text is written with the same font, size, colour and position, and the rest of the page is left exactly as it was.

When the document's font does not have a letter you type, a close match from a library of more than 180 font families draws the line instead, and the editor tells you which font was used. Bold, italic, size, colour and alignment can be changed for the line you are editing.

Add text, pictures, shapes and links

The Add group places new content on the page: text boxes with a font, size and colour, PNG and JPEG pictures, rectangles, ellipses, lines and arrows, whiteout to cover old details, and links to a web address or another page.

Anything you add can be selected, moved and resized on the page, and its properties changed in the Control Panel. Undo and redo cover every change.

Comment like a reviewer

The Comment group highlights, underlines and strikes out text, adds notes with your comment, draws freehand, adds free text and places stamps such as Approved, Draft or Confidential, or a picture of your own.

Comments are saved as standard PDF annotations, so they appear in other PDF readers and can be replied to or removed there.

Private by design

The PDF is opened, edited and saved on your device. Edits are written as an update to the original file, so pages you did not touch stay byte for byte as they were, and a password-protected file keeps its protection.

Scanned pages are pictures, so their words cannot be changed here; text boxes, pictures, whiteout and comments still work on them.

FAQ

Common questions.

Have more questions? Reach out via our contact page and we will respond within 24 hours.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The PDF is opened, edited and saved in your browser, on your device. Nothing is sent to a server.

Can I change the existing text in a PDF?

Yes. Click any line and type. When the document's font has the letters you type, the text keeps that font, size and position; when it does not, a close matching font from a library of more than 180 families is used and the editor tells you which one.

Can I add text, pictures and shapes?

Yes. Add text boxes, PNG or JPEG pictures, rectangles, ellipses, lines, arrows, whiteout and links, then move, resize and restyle them.

Can I highlight and comment?

Yes. Highlight, underline and strike out text, add notes, draw freehand, add free text and stamps. They are saved as standard PDF comments that other PDF readers show.

Does it work on password-protected PDFs?

Yes. Enter the password to open the file; the edited PDF keeps the same password and protection.

Can I edit a scanned PDF?

A scanned page is a picture, so its words cannot be changed. You can still add text boxes, pictures, whiteout and comments on it.

Is it free?

Yes. There is no account, no watermark and no page limit beyond your device's memory.
