What is the PDF Workstation?
It is ToolBuddy's all-in-one PDF workspace in your browser. Instead of a separate site for each job, you open a PDF once and move between reading, editing, form filling, signing, redaction, OCR, conversion and compression. It runs on your device and does not upload your file.

A PDF workstation is one workspace that combines the PDF tools people usually need in sequence (edit, sign, redact, convert, compress) so a document stays open and changes carry from one step to the next.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The file is opened and processed in your browser, on your device. The page lists any request that carries a body, so you can check.
Is it free?
Yes. There is no account, no watermark and no page or file limit beyond your device's memory.
What can I do in each workspace?
Read searches and shows documents. Organize handles pages. Edit changes text, images and comments. Fill & Sign fills, creates and signs forms. Protect handles passwords, redaction and sanitizing. Convert exports, imports and compresses. Tools has OCR, compare, accessibility, PDF/A, Bates numbers and batch. AI answers questions about your documents.
How do I edit text in a PDF?
Open the Edit workspace, click the text on the page and type. Where the document's font has the letters you type, the text keeps its font and place. Otherwise the block is redrawn in the closest matching font from a library of over 150 families, and you can choose another.
Can it sign or redact permanently?
Yes. You can sign with a drawn, typed or uploaded signature, or with your own certificate file (.p12 or .pfx). Redaction removes the marked text, pictures and drawings from the file and checks the saved file. Requesting signatures from other people is not part of this tool.
Does the AI assistant send my document anywhere?
No. It uses your browser's built-in model when there is one; otherwise you can download a model of about 340 MB once, and it then works offline. Without a model, search-based answers and the smart tools still work.
Can I process many PDFs at once?
Yes. Build a recipe of steps (compress, page numbers, watermark, redact, OCR, PDF/A, password and more), save it in your browser, and run it on many files to get one ZIP with a report.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Once the page has loaded, the workspaces you have opened keep working without a connection. Optional downloads, such as the AI model or extra fonts, need a connection the first time.
