3D Model Workbench

Convert, optimize, and compress 3D model files across major formats (GLB, glTF, OBJ, STL, PLY, FBX, USDZ) with Draco/meshopt compression and polygon reduction.

Select or drop a 3D model

Optimize, compress and convert GLB, glTF, OBJ, STL, PLY, FBX and USDZ models in your browser: clean up, reduce triangles, resize and re-encode textures, scale and export.

In-browser processing — files never leave your device.
Supports all major 3D formats: GLB, FBX, OBJ, STL, USDZ.

🧭

How to use

Check supported input/output details and follow the tool steps before exporting.

01

Drop or select a 3D model, a glTF folder or a ZIP, or try the sample model.

02

Choose a preset (Web delivery, Game engine or Smallest file) or set the steps yourself in the Control Panel.

03

Pick the export format, then click Optimize model.

04

Check what each step saved, use Undo if you want to try other settings, and click Download.

05

Optionally add more models under More files to process them all with the same settings.

About 3D Model Workbench

How to convert and compress 3d models in your browserIn-browser 3d model toolsConvert and optimize 3d files without software

Convert between 3D formats

The workbench supports all major 3D formats including GLB, glTF, OBJ, STL, PLY, FBX, and USDZ. Conversion is one-click — pick a target format and download.

Format-specific warnings (dropped animations, missing materials) surface before you export so nothing is lost silently.

Reduce polygon count

The Optimize card uses meshoptimizer to simplify meshes. Set the target reduction ratio and the workbench enforces a never-increase-triangle guarantee.

Before/after triangle counts are shown so you can judge the trade-off before downloading.

Apply geometry compression

Draco and meshopt compression reduce GLB file size significantly for web delivery. Compression is only available for glTF and GLB exports.

The workbench disables the compression card and shows an inline note when a non-glTF format is selected, preventing invalid exports.

Do my 3D files upload to a server?

No. 3D Model Workbench runs entirely in your browser and never sends your files to a server.

Which 3D formats are supported?

It opens GLB, glTF (with its .bin and textures, a folder or a ZIP), OBJ, STL, PLY, FBX, USDZ and the other formats the 3D Model Viewer reads, and exports GLB, glTF, OBJ, STL, PLY and USDZ.

What does Optimize model do?

It runs the steps you choose in one go: clean up (weld vertices, remove duplicate and unused data), reduce triangles, resize and re-encode textures, scale and re-position, then compress the geometry. The result shows what each step saved.

Should I use WebP or KTX2 textures?

WebP makes the smallest files and suits the web. KTX2 stays compressed on the graphics card, so a model uses far less memory in a game engine or a large scene, though the file can be larger.

What is Draco or Meshopt compression?

Both shrink the geometry inside GLB and glTF files. Draco usually makes the smallest files; Meshopt decodes faster. Other formats cannot store compressed geometry, so the option only applies to GLB and glTF.

Can I process several models at once?

Yes. Add them under More files and the same settings are applied to each, downloaded together as a ZIP. A file that cannot be processed is listed with the reason.

Can I undo operations?

Yes. Undo and Redo step back and forward through the last five runs, and you can download the model at any step.
