About Video Workstation

A timeline, not a template

Video, picture, text and audio tracks sit on one timeline. Split at the playhead, trim either end, delete with or without closing the gap, roll a cut between two clips or slip a clip to show a different part of the same footage.

Clips snap to each other, to markers and to the playhead, and undo and redo cover every edit.

Titles, transitions and music

Add text layers for titles and lower thirds, crossfades and dips between clips, and music under the picture with its own volume and fades.

Pictures and second videos can sit on top of the main video, sized and placed where you want them.

Export up to 4K

Export MP4 or WebM at the project's size or smaller, at a quality you pick or to a target file size. 4K export works where your browser can encode it.

The export runs on your device, shows its progress and time left, and can be cancelled at any time.

Private by design

Files are read straight from your device, a slice at a time, so even long recordings open quickly. Nothing is uploaded.

The project is saved on your device as you work, so a closed tab does not lose your edit.

FAQ

Common questions.

Have more questions? Reach out via our contact page and we will respond within 24 hours.

Are my videos uploaded?

No. Your files are opened, edited and exported in your browser, on your device.

Is it free?

Yes. There is no account, no watermark and no limit on length beyond what your device can handle.

Can I export in 4K?

Yes, where your browser can encode 4K, which most desktop browsers can. On phones the export goes up to 1080p.

Which files can I add?

Videos (MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV), pictures (PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF) and audio (MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, FLAC). Video in a format your browser cannot decode needs converting first.

What happens if I close the tab?

Your project is saved on your device as you work and comes back when you open the Video Workstation again. If your browser does not allow storage, for example in a private window, you are asked to add the files again.
